CLASS SCHEDULE AT A GLANCE
Advanced Hebrew: The Temple Torah Study Circle
A circle of friends with varying abilities and background in Hebrew prayer and Bible translation who lead Shabbat Morning services together four times each year. Our weekly classes prepare us to lead the prayers, read and chant from the Torah, and prepare a timely interpretation of Torah portion. Our textbook for this year will be “Graded Reader of Biblical Hebrew” learning Hebrew through the stories in the Torah from the easiest Hebrew texts and then step-by-step toward more challenging tales. If you can read a Hebrew prayer or sound out a simple sentence and want to learn more, join us. This is the right class for you.
Text Study with Rabbi David: Beliefs and Lessons From Our Bible
Together we will examine the diversity and variety of beliefs and opinions in Biblical thought. We will deal with fundamental issues of Biblical religion, such as the problem of Good and Evil, God’s attitude toward sexuality, suffering, and death.
We will try to understand why we find in the Bible ideas and beliefs that conflict and argue with each other.
Beginning Hebrew Part 2 with Mark Goldstein
In this class, we will learn to read from the prayer book and learn the meanings of the words in the prayer book. Students should have knowledge of the Alef Bet. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for registration.
